Abstract: According to the analysis of the status of wireless communication for coal mine underground, a suggestion of using UWB wireless communication system for coal mine underground communication was proposed.Some new concepts, characteristics and a system structure of UWB wireless communication technology were introduced, and several problems about narrow pulse waveform, the system scheme and application occasion of underground UWB system were discussed. Finally it was pointed out that the(research) of the propagation characteristic of UWB in coal mine tunnel is the most important step for adopting UWB wireless communication system in coal mine underground.
